Legal Notice

Last updated: 12 October 2026

1. The Service

Upslang is an online exam preparation service available at upslang.com and cambridge.upslang.com (the “Service”), operated from Italy. For any legal matter, contact us at hello@upslang.com.

Use of the Service is governed by our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. This Legal Notice sets out our relationship with Cambridge University Press & Assessment and the rights in the content of the Service.

2. Independence from Cambridge

Upslang is independent. It is not affiliated with, authorised, licensed, sponsored or endorsed by Cambridge University Press & Assessment, the University of Cambridge or any of their departments, and it is not a Cambridge examination centre or preparation centre.

Cambridge University Press & Assessment has not reviewed or approved the Service or its content. Nothing on the Service should be read as suggesting any such relationship.

3. Trademarks

Cambridge, Cambridge English, B1 Preliminary, B2 First, C1 Advanced, Cambridge English Scale and related names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners.

We use these names only in a descriptive and referential way, to identify the examinations our practice material prepares for, as permitted by trademark law — including Article 14 of Regulation (EU) 2017/1001, section 11 of the UK Trade Marks Act 1994 and the doctrine of nominative fair use in the United States. We do not use Cambridge logos.

4. Original Content

All practice exams on the Service — reading texts, questions, answer options, writing tasks, listening scripts, audio recordings and explanations — are original works created by Upslang. They are not Cambridge past papers, sample papers or official materials, and they are not copied or adapted from them.

Short, standard task instructions (for example, “choose the answer which fits best”) follow the conventional wording used in examination papers.

5. Exam Format

Our practice exams follow the publicly documented format of the Cambridge English exams: the number of parts, task types, number of questions, timings and the principles of assessment. This information is published by Cambridge to inform candidates and teachers.

A format, a method of assessment or an idea is not in itself protected by copyright: what is protected is its specific expression. All of the expression in our practice exams is our own.

6. Scores and the Cambridge English Scale

Scores shown on the Service are estimates calculated by Upslang. Reading & Use of English and Listening are marked automatically against our own answer keys. Writing is marked by an artificial intelligence system that applies the assessment criteria published by Cambridge.

Results are expressed on the Cambridge English Scale for reference only. They are not official results, do not certify any level and do not predict with certainty the result of an official examination.

Where the Writing report quotes the assessment descriptors published by Cambridge, that text remains the property of its owner (© UCLES) and is reproduced for reference, to identify the criteria applied.

7. Artificial Intelligence

Some of our content is produced with the help of AI tools, under our editorial control. Writing feedback is generated by AI. Listening recordings use synthetic voices. AI output may contain errors: see section 11 of our Terms of Use.

9. Notices from Rights Holders

If you hold rights in material that you believe is used on the Service without authorisation — including Cambridge University Press & Assessment — please write to hello@upslang.com, identifying the material, where it appears and the right concerned.

We will acknowledge your notice, review it promptly and in good faith and, where appropriate, remove or amend the material.
